Energy-efficient allocation for multiple tasks in mobile edge computing

Abstract Mobile edge computing (MEC) allows a mobile device to offload tasks the nearby server for remote execution enhance performance of user equipment. A major challenge MEC is design an efficient algorithm task allocation. In contrast previous work on MEC, which mainly focuses single-task allocation with only one be completed, this paper considers multiple or application tasks. This assumption does not hold in real settings because may have waiting execute. We address problem minimum total energy consumption considering multi-task has more consider binary computation offloading mode and formulate as integer programming that strongly NP -hard. propose approximation show it polynomial-time scheme saves maximum energy. Therefore, our proposed achieves tradeoff between optimality loss time complexity. analyze by performing extensive experiments. The results experiments demonstrate capable finding near-optimal solutions, good balance speed quality.
